HOW DID SOLDIERS PROTECT THEMSELVES?
In medieval times of war, knights and soldiers needed to protect themselves. To protect themselves from Medieval Weapons, they used armour. Medieval armour included mail or chainmail, plate armour, leather, shields and helmets. Chain Mail/Mail Mail, or Chain Mail, is a medieval form of armour that was worn as a garment or used to strengthen weaknesses in other armour. It was made from interlocking iron rings. Plate armour Plate armour was armour made from sheets which was welded to fit a person. Plate armour would generally cover the torso and limbs. Plate armour was very costly because it was made from iron. Shields A shield is a type of armour that can be used to block projectiles such as arrows or spears, or deflect an otherwise fatal blow from a sword, axe, thrusting spear, maul or other handheld weaponry. Shields were usually made from wood or iron and occasionally had a spike or spikes on it for injuring the enemy. Helmets/Helms Helmets were armour that protected the head and face. Some helmets didn't cover the whole head and face. Helmets were generally made from strong metals such as iron. Helmets are used today in war, at building sites, when riding bikes or horses, when rock climbing and wherever there may be a risk of injury to the head. Helmets have evolved form the spangelhelm and nasal helms that were used by the vikings in the 7th century. WHAT DID SOLDIERS PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM?
